Profile
Nathan Johnson always figured he would be into fighting, but growing up he never had a way in. For a stretch he was overweight and not active at all.
“Then I found wrestling, and honestly, that sport damn near changed everything for me.”
His freshman season in high school, he did not win a single match. He kept wrestling, added jiu-jitsu, and in 2026 took first at the Arnold (a big sports festival in Columbus). He has also entered open-weight brackets, against bigger and higher-ranked grapplers.
Today he fights out of Columbus, OH and trains at Immortal Martial Arts. By day he works construction as a laborer and balances the job with training. Plenty of his coworkers are surprised when they first find out he fights.

“There are days when you're tired and don't feel like doing anything after work, but that's where discipline has to take over when motivation isn't there.”
On , on short notice, he had his first amateur MMA fight, at Legends Fight Series (LFS) Middletown Mayhem. He beat Kyle Schultz with a triangle choke (a chokehold with the legs) from his back. That night he fought in the 145 lb class (featherweight). On , he drops to the 135 lb class (bantamweight) to face Jonathan Piatt at LFS Buckeye Fight Night, KEMBA Live!, Columbus, OH.

“Whether you've coached me, trained with me, supported me, pushed me, given me advice, or helped me in some small way—it doesn't go unnoticed.”
